pressrelease "Artists on the Road"
Denmark – Sweden – Finland – Germany – Switzerland

What does Europe look like through the ears of a Finn? What’s the story of the things you have on your shelves at home? Is the next Odysseus a woman? Would you exchange the first edition of “Tin Tin in Soviet” for an object of art from Switzerland?

From 17/5 to 6/6 2002, this is something you can experience, if you come across the troupe of 6 performance artists, who travel through Scandinavia and Europe by bus!

The bus in which the artists travel is a moving stage. This way any space can be turned into a stage. – The artists can perform at a rest stop in Switzerland, in a freeway café in Germany or on the deck of a ferry from Hanko to Rostock.

The performances are to be developed while travelling. - The environment and the people that the artists meet during the 21 days will have an influence on the content of the performances.

On the tour there will be 5 announced ”Roadshows” in 5 different exhibition spaces.
The exhibition spaces will function as a reception camp where the experiences accumulated on the roads in Europe and Scandinavia will show in the performances.

PARTICIPATING ARTISTS:

Lena Eriksson (CH), Sibylle Hauert (CH), Daniel Reichmuth (CH), Mirka Raito (SF)
Marianne Bramsen (DK) and Tine Kortermand Hansen (DK)
